The building goes back to the 11th Century, it has been changed and added to over time but is a magnificent grade 1 listed church that overlooks the Village of Islip. There are connections with America including with the Washington family and John Nicholl who was the ancester of the first Mayor of New York who set up the setlement of Islip in America. Pilgrims from America occasionally visit Islip Chuch to pay their respects to their ancestors.
